1. How long have you been doing Crossfit and how did you find it?
I have been doing Crossfit for almost 5 years.Mike Padgett

2. What is your favorite/least favorite movement?
My favorite movement is the box jump because of its ability to teach explosive movement to all athletes.

Least favorite, definitely burpee muscle ups.

3. Why do you Coach?
I love seeing the emotional, physical, and mental change that good coaching and community can have on someone’s life.

4. What does Crossfit mean to you?

Crossfit to me means giving blood, sweat, and tears to becoming better every single day.

5. Tell us one random non-Crosfit related fact about yourself.

I would rather do 100 burpees for time than walk 5 feet in snow.

1. How long have you been doing Crossfit and how did you find it?
Been doing crossfit onsistently for about 2 years. Started at Generator about a year and a half ago. My first exposure to crossfit was in the Fire Academy when we did the Filthy Fifty workout.

2. What is your favorite/least favorite movement?
My favorite movement is squats and least favorite by far is burpees

3. Why do you Coach?

I coach because I love seeing other people have goals and strive for them and it’s awesome to help them reach them. The human body is an amazing thing and it’s a lot of fun helping people master movement.

4. What does Crossfit mean to you?

To me Crossfit is about being in shape for life. Being able to take any task given to you and being able to make the best of it because you’re fit.
5. Tell us one random non-Crosfit related fact about yourself.
I got checked out of my Senior year of high school 2 weeks early to start my career firefighting. Never looked back since!

1. How long have you been doing Crossfit and how did you find it?

Have a dear friend, Kristen Craft, who raved about a new workout routine at a gym nearby called Generator.  I was intrigued by her workout stories and finally after a few months, I joined her for my first workout on March 25, 2014.  Have had a Love/Love relationship with Crossfit since Day 1!

2. What is your favorite/least favorite movement?IMG_20160721_173330
Funny Story…my least favorite movement has now become my favorite movement.  The good ol’ Rope Climb.  Least favorite for the first year, because I couldn’t hold my body weight to climb that rope to the top.  It was always so physically and mentally draining to attempt rope climbs in the WODs.  I chose to research Rope Climb progressions and technique, and finally made my way to the top efficiently.  I still have work to do as far as speed goes, but the accomplished weakness has definitely helped me to love it!

3. Why do you Coach?
I coach because I am extremely passionate about helping others find their fit.  Coaching is the perfect avenue for me to assist with technique, program accessory work for goal crushing, support the believers, plant a positive seed for the doubters, promote max effort, and be a voice of confidence to keep athletes moving to the very last second.  It’s so rewarding to see sweat and smiles in the gym.  Even though I’m quite new to the coaching world, I feel like it’s my jam.  Couldn’t be happier doing what I’m doing, and am so excited to expand my knowledge daily from research, others examples, and our awesome members.

4. What does Crossfit mean to you?

I like to compare Crossfit to a Crosstrainer shoe.  During my high school years, being a year around athlete, I would pick a Crosstrainer to get me through three sports each year, instead of buying a sport specific shoe for each season. And that’s exactly what Crossfit means to me.  It means I can train in a crossfit gym and be in the best shape of my life to tackle any sport or fitness activity, as opposed to training for one sport specific event.  To me, Crossfit promotes balance in my fit world.

I am a HUGE numbers geek!  Love crunching numbers, creating budgets, reconciling ledgers and statements, moving money, and helping people get out of debt and on top of their finances 🙂

I’ve been doing CrossFit for 2 1/2 years. I’d heard a little about CrossFit, but didn’t know much about it. What I had seen, I thought looked interesting, especially the variety. Turned out I had a good friend (cousin-in-law if that’s a thing) who had been doing it for several months about that time. I asked him about it and spoke very highly of how it was making a marked difference in his life. Turned out the best box wasn’t even too far from my house.  I really felt like I needed to do something; a counterpoint to the ‘desk job’ that was slowly ruining my health (and I knew it and felt it)… It wasn’t what I had planned and where I wanted my life to be headed, so I decided to give it a go.

2. What is your favorite/least favorite movement?

Trick question! They’re all awesome! and they’re all hard 🙂 Hardest movement for me? overhead press. Favorite (?) – burpees

3. Why do you Coach?

I Coach because I feel like I have learned so much and have benefited so much from Crossfit in my life and I’m excited to help others also learn and progress!

4. What does Crossfit mean to you?

CrossFit means improving; making a difference in my life and the lives of those around me.

1. How long have you been doing Crossfit and how did you find it?IMG_20160721_184629
I stumbled across Crossfit in January 2014 while working a dead-end desk job. During one of my lunch breaks I turned on the YouTube’s and saw a video of the Crossfit Games, I watched it and was hooked. My wife and I got memberships to our closest Gold’s Gym and have never looked back since.
2. What is your favorite/least favorite movement?
I am obsessed with Weightlifting so depending on the day I love snatch & clean and jerk. My least favorite movement at the moment would have to be ring muslce-ups.
3. Why do you Coach?
I coach because I love helping people and growing up i had a lot of really crappy coaches and I always told myself that if the opportunity presented itself I would be the coach/friend/person I wished was there for me. I’ve seen people treat “coaching” as a hobby or a way to get a free membership but it’s really more than that. I see it as a way to help people have the best hour of their day, everyday.
4. What does Crossfit mean to you?
It means taking control of your life and understanding that adversity/challenges can and should be punched in the throat daily.
